On a motu near the southern pass of the atoll, 1h30 by boat from Rotoava, lies the small isolated village of Tetamanu, where a few Paumotus live in a traditional way of life. Three guesthouses will welcome with open arms travelers in search of a change of scenery and extraordinary dives, eager to discover the Tumakohua pass. Much narrower than its big sister to the north, it is world famous for its walls of sharks... If diving is not your thing, come here only if you like contact with nature in superb but simple sites without superfluous things: no jet-ski, no lively atmosphere nor various leisure activities.
