Grafting demonstration, explanations and even tasting of korori (the only edible organ of the pearl oyster, delicious with a little lime!): here is a complete and essential visit to understand everything about the culture and work of the Tahitian pearl. To go further and spice up your discovery, take part in the pearl lottery: choose your mother-of-pearl and leave with your pearl! The team will even be able to pierce it for you in the workshop.

We were given this lodge as part of our diving trip in FP. Overall the lodge was lovely. The only problem ex had was |A) you had to pay extra for your feted eggs or omelette at breakfast. That was strange nowhere in the world we have had to pay extra for that. |B) if you are signed up on a set menu plan you got dinner with no choice. And I tell you it was a terrible, tasteless, dinner every night. I landed up going to the grocery store to buy cheese and meat to make a sandwich. The dinner was revolting! Every single night. It was like they did not care you were on a package deal and you had no choice and you had to eat what they gave you. |It was a different fish every night with a disgusting sauce. |C) we had a similar place I. Rangaria and we had a choice for dinner and it was great |D) the bungalow were good. Air conditioning good. ||The staff were good. ||I would not eat the dinner there on a meal plan.

Underbar plats!

We spent the first 5 nights of our first trip to French Polynesia on Fakarava at Havaiki Lodge. For those who do not speak or understand French, we suggest you have a good translation app. One of us remembered enough of her French language education, so we did not have a difficult time on the island or at the lodge. ||We had a lagoon view bungalow, glad for the air-conditioning at night. We had one good, clear night for star-gazing. Loved watching the nurse sharks swim by every day. We appreciated the reserved beach chairs (bungalow numbers on the back), especially with all the non-guest people who lunched at Snack Requin Dormeur (lunch restaurant on the water). Two days of diving covered the north and south passes, lots of sharks, and a giant manta ray was the highlight.
