According to legend, the Faaaha Valley is the birthplace of the god Hiro; it is also where he grew up. Although the inhabitants remain very attached to these ancestral beliefs, they coexist today with those of Christianity, with Protestantism in the lead. Faaaha has a Protestant temple and the parish, which also includes group homes(fare amuiraa), is a strong local community united by frequent prayer meetings and numerous celebrations.
