Not super impressed, but also not disappointed. It was interesting to say the least. I had a good time on the driving range with the floating balls. The course was poorly maintained, though the design was pretty nice. The lady at the front desk wasn’t the kindest, and gave us a weird look when we said we didn’t have balls or tees with us already, which why would we, we’re already renting clubs. Anyway, she gave us a sleeve each with 3 tees and told us that if we wanted anymore we would have to buy them which I guess is acceptable. The range ball bucket was free and the grips on the clubs were very nice and new. If I were to go back again, I would definitely have bought a glove because with how humid it is you can get some bad blisters. The course itself was pretty nice, even nicer that we were somehow the only ones there - weird because they told us when we emailed in the day before that they didn’t have any tee times for the day ????. The bunkers did have a few rocks and the fairway wasn’t in the best condition, but despite all of that we had a good time so that’s why I’m giving it a 4 star review.

Thanks!

Get more balls. I don’t usually throw away balls but they included a flimsy 3-pack and I easily went through that on the first 9. This course is tough with a lot of chances to throw balls in the water or the jungle. Also bring at least 2 liters of water. It’s boiling. Hardest course I’ve played yet. That said, there’s spectacular views and not too crowded on a July morning

Booked a rental package in advance. Pro shop staff was super communicative, and the course was really fun. Note: Restaurant and bar are closed as of May2025

Green Pearl is such a beautiful golf course. If you are expecting perfectly maintained fairways and greens you will be disappointed. But you are golfing in paradise with some of the most stunning views anywhere. The people are nice. It's not crowded and you can play at your own pace. One of my favorite vacation golf spots anywhere. The restaurant in the club house is pretty good as well.

This golf course is stunning. On the island of Mo'orea, this course is located between the lagoon and the mountains, so you have views of both as you play. It's a bit different from what I'm used to in Canada but that was a given and def not in a bad way. They had great rental clubs available and the carts and paths were well maintained.

Visiting Moorea from California and wanted to play at Green Pearl Golf Club.
Checking in was a breeze, the staff were quick and friendly. Balls, tees and markers were priced well and readily available.
It was a challenging course that offered everything on my bucket list. The Fairways varied with Dogleg left, right, water lined and magnificent elevated tee boxes up the mountain with spectacular views of the course and ocean!

We finished off the day with a delicious meal in the restaurant with sweeping views of the course and ocean.

amicalement

Play golf in Mo’orea! The first few holes are good but the course is so interesting after that!

I was really excited to play golf in French Polynesia, but unfortunately this course was a little disappointing. You could tell that the course was beautiful when it was first built, but has deteriorated over time. There was very little sand in bunkers, grass had grown into bunkers, some dead spots on greens but they did roll nice. I would say it was worth the experience to say you golfed on Moorea, but don't set your expectations too high on course conditions.

***2024 Update*** I was able to go back to the Green Peal in 2024 and play a round with my family. We had such a fun afternoon. Yes, the course could use some love in areas, but the staff appear to be improving it as they can. I would definitely play here if you get a chance. It is a fun, challenging course.

We wanted to play here and let them know we had only be playing for a few months (asking for a typical less busy time of the course). They informed us that they would “TOLERATE” us playing, but only if we got a “green card” player to play with.
No thank you.
It certainly makes a beginner reconsider ever playing.

Beautiful scenery. Was excited to play in French Polynesia. Course unfortunately in pretty rough shape, bunkers full of rocks and fairways were pretty dry

nice design, paid 300 usd as a couple, took us 3.5hrs
don‘t expect nice fairways etc. but it‘s still worth it

Great course. Loved the undulating greens and nasty pin placements.

Disappointing to find a Nicklaus design course in as poor of condition as this course. The bunkers are just dirt and rocks. The fairways had huge swaths without grass, just dirt. The greens were poorly maintained with dead areas throughout. The ProShop had zero customer service, few rental clubs (I had to share a set of highly abused clubs), the putter grip was disintegrating in my hands and they had almost no merchandise for sale. Additionally the course had dogs, chickens, kids and people walking all around the course. They would literally pop out of the trees and bushes onto the course. This course was probably nice about 10 years ago but today it would rate as a poor muni course. If you go bring your own clubs, expect to over pay and have low expectations.

The golf course itself is surprisingly vast and interesting, particularly the full 18 holes. I’m no golf expert, but it’s well laid out and generally a beautiful course. As others have mentioned, it’s not pristine and can use some repairs on the tracks and maybe a little bit of manicure work, but in general it’s a great course, plan for 4-6 hours for the full 18 holes, and wear sunscreen.

It is on the windward side of the island so be mindful that it can be windy
