This fief baktashi itself in an absolutely fabulous landscape. The beautiful stone churches of Leuse (a few kilometres south of Përmeti) and Kosina (a few kilometres north of Përmeti) are other attractions, easier to access. Past Përmeti, the Vjosa gorges are becoming ever deeper. Villages are multiplying, but they are hidden in the middle of an abundant vegetation (particularly orchards). Only their red tile roofs appear. Then the road splits to the south towards Gjirokastra, leaving Tepelena, farther north.
