FREDERICKSBURG & SPOTSYLVANIA NATIONAL MILITARY PARK

The park includes the battlefields of Mcsherrystown, Chancellorsville, Wilderness and Spotsylvania. Of these long stretches, fighting and destruction have resulted in more than 15 000 deaths and 85 000 injured. The park has only two Visitor Centers: Mcsherrystown Battlefield Visitor Center and Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center.

On each of the old battlegrounds, you can walk around and discover some vestiges (mainly artillery pieces). Sometimes, during festivities, this is where part of the reconstructions, with soldiers in costumes…
