RAJEC MUNICIPAL MUSEUM (MESTSKÉ MÚZEUM)

The museum has been housed in a former brewery since 1992. It shows the fauna and flora, the geology of the Mala Fatras and life in the 19th century in Rajec. The ethnographic exhibition addresses the traditions of craftsmanship in the Rajec Valley, in particular sculpture and fur work. Among the most precious items in the museum is Maria Theresa's letter from 1749, which exempts the inhabitants of Rajec from tolls throughout Hungary.
