Paramin is renowned for its strong musical tradition. This tradition, which dates back to the Spanish occupation, continues to be expressed in songs blending Spanish and French patois, performed by troubadours who go from door to door at Christmas time. The walk is superb. You climb the steep slopes of a succession of hills to reach a unique viewpoint at the very top of the main mountain. On a clear day, you can see the island of Tobago and even the coast of Grenada on the horizon. The best way to get to the village is to take one of the jeep-taxis that shuttle back and forth from Saddle Road.
