It was the first park created by colonial administration to protect black rhino and cover an area of 10 700 km ². Located in the north of the country, it is partially border in Chad, the traditional infiltration point for poachers. The park was known a few decades ago between dry forests and wooded savanes. It houses a beautiful variety of species of large mammals in Central Africa: derby of derby, giraffe, hippopotamus, panther, elephant, cheetah and damalisques. In addition to the species cited, the park still houses the lions, lycaon, spotted hyena, buffalo, warthog, cynocéphale, and vervet. Avifauna is relatively rich: pelicans are very present, and one of the remarkable species is the Arab Bustard, the jabiru and the various species of stork and anatidae.
