CHURCH OF THE ENCOUNTER OF JESUS-WITH-SIMON

Built in 1760, this Greek-Catholic church is one of the oldest monuments in eastern Slovakia. It contains rare mural paintings depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments from the period 1793-1797. The window bars, hand-forged in Gothic style, are interesting. The iconostasis dates from the early 18th century and has only two doors (royal in the center and deacon on the north side), a rare feature.
