This 13th century Gothic fortress was built to face the Ottomans. Renovated in the Renaissance style in the 16th century, this building was destroyed in the 18th century. Today, the Tekov Museum is housed in the 16th century Renaissance mansion next to the ruins. The room of the composer Schubert has been reconstructed in one of the rooms where he is said to have stayed, the other exhibitions are on archaeology, the history of the castle, the history of pharmacy.
