HALUŠKY FEST TURECKÁ

This halušky world championship takes place every year around mid-July in the village of Turecká, near Banská Bystrica in the centre of the country. The competition is divided into several categories and many teams are working, for example, to cook the famous bryndzové halušky as quickly as possible. Then a jury tastes and rates the best. Finally, each team must eat their own dish of bryndzové halušky as quickly as possible. This local event is a must, with alcohol and traditional music as a backdrop.
