In Cyrillic: Ивановските скални църкви. In this monastery carved out of limestone rock, the 14th century frescoes, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, are truly breathtaking. The monastery is a good pretext for a hike: a path that starts from the car park below goes up to the monastery, continues further into the Roussenski Lom, and is perhaps the best way to appreciate the valley. You can walk this way to the Tcherven fortress.
