The Naso Tjër-Di are the only people originally from the Americas to be governed by a King from the Santana family. At present, the government is a mixture of constitutional and hereditary monarchy. At the end of 2020, this community of some 3,000 people was recognized as a comarca, a historic step forward in the assertion of their rights. Numerous thematic tours are organized to discover trails in the forest(sendero de las heliconias) or the community of Sieiyik, where the royal palace is located.
