A three-tiered mountain-temple dedicated to Shiva, built by King Rajendravarman in the century in a style similar to the Eastern Mebon.
This three-tiered temple-mountain dedicated to Shiva was built by King Rajendravarman. Similar in style to the Eastern Mebon, it was built in the mid-tenth century on a rectangular platform of 117 by 127 meters and like many Angkor temples has five staggered towers. The base tower is surrounded by 12 small shrines. Its nickname, "Turning the Body," is said to come from a cremation ritual, but could also come from an evolution of the Sanskrit term Viśvarūpa ("having various forms"). In any case, the mystery remains.
