LOLEI
Late Hindu temple founded by Yaśovarman in homage to his father, which formed an island in the middle of the Indratataka reservoir.
This Hindu temple dates from the late 9th century and was built by Yaśovarman I in memory of his late father. The monument's appearance is somewhat marred by the unfortunate presence of various constructions, including a contemporary monastery. Like the Mebon Oriental, Lolei formed an island in the middle of the Indratataka, an immense reservoir (now dried up) measuring 3,800 m by 800 m, designed to supply water to the capital Hariharalaya and the surrounding plains. This temple can be visited just before the Bakong.
