In the heart of the Caravelle peninsula, the distillery has been established for five generations (1830, to be exact), but has been inactive for several years, thanks to an ambitious project led by Jean-Pascal and Gaëlle Hardy. A rooftop overlooking the old stone winery offers a breathtaking view of the distillery, the sea, îlet Tartane and plage de la Brèche, in an exceptional setting in the heart of the Caravelle Nature Reserve. The boutique offers both white and aged rums, as well as a range of local sweet and savoury products.

Belle histoire familiale et un très bel accueil. Très bon rhum. J'en suis tombé amoureux. Cadre exceptionnel avec ces restes de rhumerie.Une adresse à ne pas rater. Impatient de voir mon facteur pour récupérer mon colis et de déguster a nouveau mon Rhum préféré.

Cette distillerie n’est plus en activité depuis longtemps mais on peut tout de même goûter et acheter leur excellent rhum, produit chez leur partenaire Saint-James à Sainte-Marie. Les produits dérivés vendus en boutique et la vieille distillerie valent aussi le coup d’oeil si vous passez par Tartane.
