THE MUSEUM OF SAINT-MAUR-DES-FOSSES

The museum has nothing in common with the Académie de France in Rome, despite what its nickname "Villa Médicis" might imply: this appellation was given in 1854 to the small castle (built in the th century), in tribute to the Queen of France, Catherine de Médicis, who briefly inhabited the castle of Saint-Maur during the th century.
