MONOLITHE DE BEN AÏCHA
Like its better-known neighbor, Ben Amer, the Ben Aïcha monolith pierces the plains of the Mauritanian desert, inviting you to climb it and enjoy a superb 360-degree panorama. No need for climbing equipment, Ben Aïcha can be climbed using ropes installed as a via ferrata. Beware, however, of those prone to vertigo. In addition, climbing routes have been laid out and can be practised. For lovers of the discipline, this is an atypical spot that's well worth the detour, although it's best to be accompanied by a guide.
