A celebration honouring sailors lost at sea, with a colourful maritime procession and traditional games.

Navy Day is an important date in the port of Río Lagartos, as it pays tribute to the sailors and fishermen who died at sea. The celebrations, organised by the Río Lagartos fishermen's cooperative, begin on the evening of 31 May with a concert by a musical group. The following day, a mass is held and the traditional bordeo, a procession made up of a hundred colourful lanchas, during which a floral offering is placed in the sea in memory of those lost. There is also a competition for the best decorated boat and traditional games.
