The main attraction of the site is the Great Pyramid, dedicated to the rain god Chiconquiahuitl . When Cortés arrived in Cholula, the religious city was still active and the Spaniards perpetrated the first great massacre of the Indian population in Mexico. After the conquest, they built a church on top of the pyramid, the Iglesia de los Remedios. The site contains ceremonial patios to discover or a long tunnel in which one can circulate.
