ZONA ARQUEOLOGICA MALINALCO

One must climb the cliffside before reaching this beautiful ceremonial center which culminates at 215 m above the village and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding valleys and mountains. The buildings predate the Aztec invasion of 1476, who themselves transformed this sanctuary by dedicating it to their warrior caste of the order of the eagle. There are magnificent buildings decorated with impressive bas-reliefs and impeccably renovated.
