A little island lost in the middle of the bolongs, it's a bit like the end of the end of the end, and it's here, it's said, that Djinabo's son was hidden away to keep him from the French-style education they wanted to give him in Saint-Louis. The village recently gained access to drinking water and now runs on solar power. The inhabitants live mainly from rice-growing and fishing. Local guides will show you around this remote village of 600 people, who live in some forty traditional huts. Eloubaline can be reached by rowing boat from the Séléki region or from the outskirts of Oussouye, at Edioungou.
