MISSISSIPPI AGRICULTURAL & FORESTRY MUSEUM
Created in 1978, this museum is one of the most entertaining of Jackson. The site is very large and is divided into several entities. This is the essence. A short trail will guide you through the surrounding greenery to the central building (Heritage Center). A first exhibition recounts the history of agriculture and forestry in the region with a rich collection of tools. A second is dedicated to reduced model trains that can be operated using electric switches. A last exhibition will make you discover the roofing planes used for crops. In an eccentric building, you can watch the Fitzgerald Collection: a collection of unusual objects all right out of the past. A rose rose, with magnificent flowers (depending on your visit, of course), allows the link with a village of the 1860 s where you can descend the central street to discover the school, the General store, the church and other buildings reconstructed in the smallest detail. Later, you will find a farm with live animals (poultry, rabbits, pigs, cows, ponies, mule…) as it is present today.
