14 km from El Chaltén, on Route 40, this lake located north of Lago Argentino seems to be its twin. It also receives its turquoise waters from the melting glaciers, those of the northern sector of the Parque Nacional de los Glaciares. Then, at its eastern end, it flows via the Rio La Leona southwards into the Lago Argentino. Some hostels offer bike tours, but you can also organise hikes along its shores. It is possible to discover it on a cruise to the Viedma Glacier, the largest glacier in all of Patagonia.
