MASJID SULTAN OMAR ALI SAFUDDIEN
A superb mosque, symbol of Brunei, built in 1958 by Sultan Omar Ali Safuddien, with a prayer room worth visiting.
One of the symbols of Brunei, this beautiful mosque open to visitors supports an imposing golden dome. It was built in 1958 by Sultan Omar Ali Safuddien in keeping with the tradition that every sultan leaves a mosque as a legacy. Much more spectacular outside than inside, you can still access the prayer room. On the nearby basin, a brick and cement replica of a 16th century royal barge seems to float on the water.
