ZIMBABWE PARKS AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority is the tourism office for Victoria Falls National Park. Founded in 1975, the authority is responsible for the protection, management and administration of Zimbabwe's wildlife. The country is home to the world's second-largest elephant population, as well as the fourth-largest rhino population. It also boasts over 670 species of birds and around 151 species of fish. Visitors can enjoy many activities in the parks, such as mountain hiking, wildlife watching, fishing, boat trips and even bungee jumping. The authority also implements conservation efforts, including research to study the balance of ecosystems and the ecological relationships between species and their habitats. It also works with local communities to manage communal lands for the benefit of livelihoods.
