DOON ESTATE

Doon Estate is basically a collection of old buildings that were used by South African gold mining companies to recruit miners for the Witwatersrand Native Labour Association, popularly known as Wenela. Today, it is a maze of stores offering a wide range of local products: leather goods, linens, dishes, clothing, wall hangings, jewelry, masks, sculptures made of recycled materials, but also chocolates, soaps, etc. There are also a few small restaurants.
