L'Atelier du Troglodyte is a ceramic production and experimentation center located in Brain-sur-Vilaine. Open since 2009, the studio offers a variety of ceramic objects, including white, cobalt-blue and chrome-green glazed earthenware and turned pots, as well as animal sculptures inspired by the wildlife of the Vilaine and ocean shores. The workshop also offers poetic musical instruments, such as three-tone flutes and percussion instruments. The materials used are local, in keeping with an ecological approach, and firing takes place on wood in a large Girel-type kiln. Workshops and courses are offered for beginners and advanced ceramists of all ages, enabling them to explore different modelling, decorating and ceramic-making techniques. L'Atelier du Troglodyte's products are available for sale at the studio itself, at the Redon market and at craft markets. Exhibitions and markets are regularly organized, notably in Bourg des Comptes, Herbignac, La Chapelle sur Erdre, Rouen, Vannes and Paris.
