Located on the pleasant shoreline promenade, the city's lighthouse overlooks where the Susquehanna River meets Cheseapeake Bay. Built in 1827, at which time it operated with 9 whale oil lamps, it remained operational until 1975. When it is open, you can go inside and visit the guard's house.
