TENGWANG PAVILION
Pavilion housing a collection of paintings and calligraphy, as well as a teahouse and souvenir store
Built during the Tang dynasty (618-907), the Prince Teng Pavilion has been rebuilt 29 times! The current structure, dating from 1989, is inspired by the architectural style of the Song and Ming dynasties, with its pagoda roofs and richly ornate facades. Overlooking the Gan River from the top of its 9 storeys, it houses a collection of paintings and calligraphy, as well as a teahouse and the inevitable souvenir store. On the top floor, traditional dance performances perpetuate the cultural heritage of this emblematic city monument.
