Former shipyard in the San Pedro district, site of the construction of the whaler San Juan, now a center of maritime culture

This former shipyard in the Pasai San Pedro district was the site of the 16th-century construction of the whaler San Juan, whose wreck was discovered in Canada's Labrador Peninsula. Converted into a center for maritime culture, it is now a vast workshop where artisanal shipbuilding is perpetuated. Currently, a team of volunteers is working on rebuilding a full-scale replica of the whaler San Juan. A fascinating project!
