Punta Porã was a bucolic spot where carts carrying mate and other goods would stop. A shady site, with small lagoons, including the one known today as "Laguna Punta Porã", the last remaining in the middle of the city. At the end of the 19th century, buildings began to spring up around this popular stopover for travellers, and over the decades, a whole town grew up. In the 1970s, the area around the lagoon was redeveloped, and today " la laguna " is a favorite spot for relaxation.
