CASA DE LAS VICTIMAS

A documentation and archive centre on the victims of repression during the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner (1954-1989). It presents testimonies of victims, many of them in this department where the Christian Agrarian Leagues, a community movement of peasant resistance, were born. The centre has been open since 2003, when the "Justice and Truth" commission was set up, which has enabled a great deal of information to be gathered on the role of the various actors during the dark years. Most of the people who take you in are former victims.
