CERRO TRES KANDÚ
Cerro Tres Kandú (or Cerro Peró), at 842 m, is Paraguay's highest peak. It is located 6 km from the municipio of General Garay, in the Yvytyruzu nature reserve, south of Villarrica. The summit offers a majestic view of the green plains stretching to the horizon. It's worth the effort, of course, as the climb is 3 km long and almost 600 m in height, and quite steep in places. Early departure is recommended, especially in summer, due to the heat. Information at the Visitor Center and camping area. Guide not essential, trail is well marked.
