Inaugurated in 1942 on the site of a colonial church in the middle of a park, the Tobatí parish church contains treasures from the Franciscan era, in particular a Baroque-style polychrome wooden altarpiece. Among the statues installed in the niches of the altarpiece is the central statue of the Immaculate Conception, the same as that of the Virgin of Caacupé, but much larger (1.5 m high). It was made by the same native craftsman in the 1530s.
