HOTEL DEL LAGO

A legendary hotel. Built in 1888, politicians and intellectuals came to meet there after a long train journey to Areguá and then by steamboat across the lake. The hotel retains a charm that is outdated and has an abundance of vegetation on the terrace facing the lake. The rooms are elegant and comfortable. They have welcomed illustrious guests such as Saint-Exupéry, de Gaulle, Roosevelt, Aznavour, "Mangoré", José Asunción Flores... This museum-like hotel is also a cultural centre, with exhibitions and an art gallery.
