ESTACIÓN DE FERROCARRIL DE LUQUE

The country's second railway station was built in Luque in 1861, under the presidency of Carlos Antonio López, who brought in English engineers for its construction. The railway line then linked Luque to Asunción-Trinidad. After being abandoned for twenty years, it was completely restored in 2020. It is now a pleasant place to visit. The station is 300 m from Plaça Mcal López. Along the way, you'll see some beautiful colonial and neoclassical houses.
