An emblematic hotel and icon of national architecture, this distinctive thirteen-storey building has been enthroned in the heart of Asunción since 1961. Charles De Gaulle and Neil Armstrong, among other celebrities, were able to try out the presidential suite. Closed for many years, the hotel has been restored to its former glory, with rooms featuring modern comforts and a more minimalist design. It offers a large terrace with swimming pool, auditorium, sauna, casino and the Yasyretá bar-restaurant, which serves decent international cuisine.
