Alsatian restaurant, member of the Federation of Chefs of Alsace, with a terrace above a river, the Logelbach.
Straddling a quiet square and a small canal (the Brendechlein, which takes its name from the distillers of yesteryear), this traditional restaurant is a member of the Fédération des Chefs d'Alsace. It attracts a good clientele of regulars, who love its homemade fries accompanied by entrecôte steak or cordon bleu with cream. But it would be unfair to reduce the reputation of this restaurant to a few handfuls of fries! Sincere and generous, the cuisine at Hammerer brings up to date specialties whose recipes have been handed down from father to son in the Warth family for decades. Cochonnailles, fleischschnaka, bouchées à la reine and game sometimes give way to bouillabaisse, couscous or paella on a special evening. As an after-dinner drink, you can opt for a horse-drawn carriage ride through Colmar's historic center, under the guidance of Jean Warth: since handing over the reins to his son Cyrille, Jean has devoted himself to his passion for horses, which he drives in carriage!
