This is the second smallest city in Oregon, with only 36 inhabitants in 2017.... Since then, the population has stagnated. That said, it should be noted that the city is "expanding" since in 1990, it had only 10 inhabitants! Like many other cities in the area, Granite was founded following the discovery of gold in its surroundings in 1862. 80% of the city's men were employed in the mining industry at the time. Granite is one of the ghost towns of the State, we will simply pass through it out of curiosity.
