The railway station of Bălți-Slobozia (also called "North Station") came into service on November 12, 1893. It is from this place that several thousands of Moldavians were deported to Siberia on 6 July 1949. A new building was constructed in December 1970. From this station you can reach Ocnița, Florești, Rîbnița, Ungheni, Chișinău or Mohyliv-Podilskyï in Ukraine. It is possible to consult timetables or book tickets from the website.
