CASTELLO DI GORIZIA

Symbol of Gorizia, the castle dominates the city and its surroundings. Its foundation dates back to the 11th century. Remodeled several times, it was almost completely destroyed during the First World War. Faithfully rebuilt, it houses the city's museum of the Middle Ages, a military museum, a magnificent music room and a picture gallery. In the central courtyard, it is still possible to see the remains of the old 11th century tower. The site is used for the programming of concerts, and conferences are regularly organized there.
