LENTOS ART MUSEUM (LENTOS KUNSTMUSEUM)

Opened in 2003, the Lentos is one of Austria's most renowned museums of modern and contemporary art, its architecture echoing that of the Ars Electronica Center on the other side of the Danube, marking the urban landscape. A huge rectangle of glass and concrete, with a wide open passageway, the Lentos takes on its full color at nightfall. Richly endowed, it features works from the ^19th century, including those by Schiele and Kokoschka, as well as thematic temporary exhibitions.
