CHURCH OF ST. MARTIN (MARTINSKIRCHE)

It is the oldest surviving church in Austria. During its restoration in 1947, a reproduction of the famous Volto Santo fresco was discovered, the original of which is in Lucca, Italy. The fresco dates from the early ^15th century. This depiction of Christ evokes the legend of the itinerant musician who devoted himself to Jesus until his death.
