THE ETHAN ALLEN HOMESTEAD MUSEUM

The house of the revolutionary who gave his name to the place, an emblematic figure of Vermont's identity, can be visited during the summer months. Ethan Allen had this shingled and gabled building built in 1787. The interior is reconstructed as it was at the end of the 18th century and emphasizes the special skills needed to survive the colonial era. The park is also open to visitors and can be a pleasant stop for a picnic.
