Museum retracing the history of Mountain, discovered in 1805 by Luke Brooks and Francis Witcomb.
May 2003 marks a black event for the inhabitants of the small town of Franconia. On May 3, the boulder nicknamed " the old man of the mountain " collapsed. Discovered in 1805 by explorers Luke Brooks and Francis Witcomb, the rock was one of the town's symbols. In 1832, author Nathaniel Hawthorne visited the site, which inspired his short story The Great Stone Face. Today, a small museum tells the story of the rock and its special bond with the local people.

Ce petit musée est intéressant et gratuit, faire également la balade qui mène au site où se trouvait la curiosité avant que la roche ne s'effondre.
