Remote location west of the Grand Canyon marked by river views, volcanic features and lava flows
Also known as Toroweap Point or simply Tuweep, this completely isolated spot on the west side of the Grand Canyon offers one of the most spectacular views of the river: 900 meters vertically above the river! Its volcanic features, cinder cones and lava flows make it a unique viewpoint in the park. Moreover, it is from here that the most beautiful photographs of the Grand Canyon are taken. In summer, this site can be very crowded. Ranger Station and first aid station. No services on site.

It is difficult access (stony track especially the last 5 miles). There are often bites (no we escaped there). But the sunrise in front of the grand canyon alone will be forever engraved in my memory. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful view of the grand canyon. Everything is wild. A camp Spartan just a table to eat and organic toilets. For our part, we slept in the car. I highly thank the forest ranger with us guide to the difficult access camp and gave us a good place to repair our tire with Frédonia
