REX MUSEUM

This museum traces the history of Gallup and its inhabitants. It occupies what was once the Rex Hotel, built in 1928, and which was one of the city's major figures. In particular, the museum explores the culture of the region's first inhabitants, the mining and railway activities that led to what Gallup is today. Many important historical resources are available, including an inventory of Hillcrest Cemetery graves, photographs, newspapers, artifacts and books on Gallup's past.
