WHEELWRIGHT MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN

Founded in 1937, the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian is the oldest independent, non-profit museum in New Mexico. The Wheelwright offers unique exhibitions of contemporary and historical American Indian art. It is particularly famous for its collections of little-known genres and for solo exhibitions of living Native American artists. It also houses the most comprehensive collection of Navajo and Pueblo jewelry in the world.
